This session will take attendees through the key documentation and certification requirements for each electrotechnical fire safety system type, clearly setting what should be produced, when it should be issued and how it demonstrates compliance.
This knowledge transfer provides a clear and practical overview of how to evidence compliance through the Golden Thread of information for electrotechnical fire life safety systems. It introduces the principles of the Golden Thread as defined within the Building Safety Act 2022 and explains how these requirements translate into real-world documentation and compliance responsibilities.
Covering typical electrotechnical fire safety work carried out by electrical contractors including emergency lighting, Grade D domestic fire alarm systems and the mains power supplies to fire detection and alarm, voice alarm, emergency voice communication and evacuation alert systems, all of which have British standard specific criteria in addition to the requirements of BS 7671.
